National union of autonomous technical education action
The National union of Technical education, Action, Autonome says SNETAA commonly is a trade union French whose field of activity is vocational training, mainly the vocational schools. With the professional elections of 2005, the SNETAA confirmed with more than 30% of the voices its first position in the professors of vocational school.
Old component of FEN, then of the FSU, the SNETAA founded the federation Efficacité independence secularity.
It defends the complete attachment of technical education to the State education and its integration of the private structures, the Laïcité and is opposed to an early descolarisation of the pupils.
Its general secretary is Christian Lage.
History
The SNETAA was founded in 1948 by Robert Legrand, under name GISAL (Grouping of Trade-union Independence of the Academy of Lille). In 1949 it becomes the SNAA and adheres to the FEN which chose autonomy after the bursting of the trade-union unit of 1947. It takes the name of SNETAA in 1955 and becomes majority in the sector in 1969. In 1989 it founds the tendency " Autrement" within the FEN in order to defend the specificity of vocational training. In 1992 he refuses the creation of a single trade union of teachers (SE-FEN then SE-UNSA) wanted by the federal direction and leaves the FEN.In 1993 the SNETAA takes part in the creation of FSU with other trade unions excluded by the FEN like the SNES. Little at ease with the general orientation FSU, it is excluded from it in 2002. It then creates with the Autrement tendency federation EIL.
Since, the SNETAA knows an animated existence. After the scission of federation EIL of the trade union of the certified and incorporated professors (far from representative), it is, in 2007, exclusion " with vie" former general secretary of the trade union, Bernard Pabot, however project superintendent of the rupture with the FSU, which is decided by the national office. In front of this confusion, in several academies, of the teams of the SNETAA make the choice join other trade-union organizations (SE-UNSA in Paris, FAEN in Nantes…).
Organization
The statutes and the rules of procedure of the SNETAA, modified in 2004, provide that the persons in charge are designated by Currents of Reflection and Trade-union activity (CRAS) on the basis of a vote of the trade unionists. Thus, a person in charge is not titular directly of his mandate, but holds it of the CRAS to which it belongs, which can withdraw to him besides. At the time of the last vote of orientation, in 2007,12% of the trade unionists voted for the single CRAS which presented a list, Otherwise, which thus obtained the totality of the seats.
