The National union for the total independence of Angola , more known under the name of UNITA (acronym for the Portuguese name União Nacional para has Independência Total of Angola ), is an Angolan political movement. Until 2002, this group was primarily a military force which had fought during the Angolan Civil war, while being supported by the the United States, against the Marxist mode (supported by the cuban Soviet Union and troops and military advisers). Creation of the movement until its death, the UNITA was directed by its founder Jonas Savimbi.
