National school of the warrant officers of active
Presentation
The National school of the warrant officers of active is a school of initial training warrant officers of the Army française.
Its currency is " to rise by the effort ".
History
Cohabiting with the School of application of the infantry until in 1967, the National school of the warrant officers of active (ENSOA) is created in 1963 with Saint-Maixent-the School (Two-Sevres), quoted military since 1881.
April 20th 1964, the Minister for the armies, Pierre Messmer, gives his Drapeau to the school. As of its birth, the ENSOA is a school interarmes but there then exists ten of other schools which also trains the young people Sous-officier S.
In the years 1970, the school must reorganize, readjust its means, take immediate measures to lodge and feed a manpower which does not cease growing until reaching, on July 1st 1974, the figure of thousand four hundred and fifty pupils warrant officers whereas it was located around six hundreds, one year more early.
In 1978, the improvement of the warrant officers passes through Saint-Maixent. The training courses general of the 2nd level (CM2 will last until in 1998. Since, the ENSOA ensures the preparation by correspondence of the candidates the higher patent of technician of the Army (BSTAT).
In 1984, it integrates its first pupils female warrant officers. After the dissolution of the technical National school of the warrant officers of active of Issoire, it becomes the single school of initial training of the warrant officers of the Army in 1998 and, for this reason, ensures the formation of the near total of the warrant officers of the Army. Only three categories of warrant officers of the Army are not formed with the ENSOA: warrant officers of the Foreign legion (all obligatorily of former promoted legionaries sergeants or sergeant to the merit), warrant officers of the troops of mountain (formed during one year with the Military academy of high-mountain) and warrant officers in service with the Brigade of firemen of Paris (BSPP of the arms with the genius) all formed by the row and after at least 2 years of service.
In 2002 (by decree of January 23rd, 2002), at the time of the 150e birthday of the Military decoration, this one is conferred on the flag of the E.N.S.O.A of St Maixent (like at three other schools of warrant officers), in recognition of the sacrifices that they ( warrant officers) agreed.
After forty years of existence, the ENSOA already formed or improved more than 100.000 warrant officers of the Army.
During the ten next years, the ENSOA will be equipped gradually with a more modern infrastructure and functional calculus intended to accommodate all the trainees of direct recruitment or “body of troop”. It is also considered a regrouping of the two schools of formations iniales (officers and warrant officers) in Brittany on the single site of Saint-Cyr military school Coëtquidan, thus making it possible the ENSOA to have a true training ground on the camp of Coëtquidan and mutualiser all the part support (restoration, human stock management and maintenance).
Objectives
The ENSOA exempts eight month of military general formation to the new volunteers titular (EVSO) warrant officers of the VAT or an equivalent diploma (direct recruitment). Formation by semi-direct recruitment, intended for the military volunteers of row (EVAT) having proven reliable in their units, hard as for it 3 months.
At the end of the formation the young warrant officers obtain a military certificate of first degree (CM1) and leave for a formation in a school specialization.
The formation can be regarded as difficult at the physical level by the people in bad condition: the least strong mentally generally give up. However, put aside the pupils suffering from a handicap not diagnosed or badly evaluated during the tests of entry and selection, the certificate remains accessible, for those which will want to try hard of it well: like any school, the ENSOA makes it possible to learn and progress intellectually and physically during the formation, thanks to the infrastructures and with the many courses exempted by the tested executives. Moreover it is all the same recommended to the not-sportsmen to physically prepare before integrating the school.
It should be noted that the ENSOA can be a springboard towards the career of officer: after one two years minimum duration the young warrant officer will be able to present to the contest Military academy interarmes, if it obtained a notation of 7 points out of 7 points during these 2 years.
