National school of ski and alpinism
The National school of ski and alpinism ( ENSA ), located at Chamonix, is the French school of reference in the field of the sports of mountain. It is in particular the school of the Guides of high mountain.
History of the ENSA
- It seems that the ENSA draws its origin from the first training center of chiefs of cord, the college of Praz, created in 1942 in particular by the guide Marcel Bozon (according to).
- In 1943, is created the National school of Ski to Alpe d' Huez.
- In 1945, the National school of Ski is established with Val of Isere.
- In 1947, it is transferred to Chamonix and becomes the National school of the Ski and Alpinism (ENSA) ().
Statutes and organization
- the ENSA is a public corporation in administrative matter placed under the supervision of the ministry for Youth and the sports.
- the principal is named by the ministry in charge.
- the board of directors of the ENSA includes/understands 18 members, of which a third of members of right, 6 sitting because of their competence (federal and associative partners) and 6 members elected within the establishment.
According to its statutes, the ENSA received State the mission of: to form and to improve the framing of the sporting trades of the mountain, to lead studies and analyzes in the field of safety in mountain, to contribute to the training of the sportsmen of high-level.
