National school of economy applied

Installed with Dakar (Senegal) since 1963 the purpose of, the National school of economy applied (ENEA) is to form executives of the development.

History

In 1962, under the presidency of Léopold Sédar Senghor, the president of the council of Senegal, Mamadou Dia, request with the Minister for the French Co-operation, to help it to create with the Senegal an establishment of high level formation for the executives of the Senegalese development. " The experiment, explains it, proved that it was often disastrous to send outside the co-operative executives in formation, owing to the fact that it are absolutely cut country realities African, European co-operative movements offering only one remote analogy, in the majority of the aspects, with the African co-operation. In addition, the intellectual equipment of Dakar gives very invaluable facilities to consider such a projet"

Thus is born initially the co-operative College from Dakar (inspired by the co-operative Collège of Paris, directed by Henri Desroche) whose first tasks are the recycling of the agents of the co-operation and the formation of technicians of the co-operation.

The results of this establishment are considered to be satisfactory and lead to the creation of National school of Economy Applied, officialized by the decree No 560 of July 30th, 1963.

According to the President of the Republic Léopold Sédar Senghor, the National school of economy applied " must; to train planners in the college of Planning, the co-operators in the college of the Co-operation, the organizers in the college of Animation, the amenagist in the college of Town and country planning. Gradually all the junior staff of development… will leave this school… Our planning will become more operational then because sticking to realities pays".

Organization

The director of the ENEA is currently Koumakh Ndour. Three types of formations are open in the establishment:
  • In initial training , it acts to form qualified and operational executives of development able to impel, stimulate, organize and animate the economic activities, but also to inform and train the producers and rural and urban populations for the improvement of their technical capabilities, of their framework and standard of living. This formula exists for the four departments.
  • a modular formation of short or average duration offers to the agents of development as well national as African continuing education and recycling.
  • Since 1999, of new dies train high-level techniciens They ensure the graduates a fast insertion in the working life and contribute to the unchoking of the first cycles of the universities. The following specialities are taught there:
    • Animation of the development
    • Environment, decentralization and urban management
    • Management of the projects
