National park of Westland Tai Poutini
The national park of Westland Tai Poutini is located on the island of the South of the New Zealand. Created in 1960, at the centenary of the establishment of Européens in what is today the District of Westland, it has a surface of: 1175 and go from the highest peaks of the the Alps of the South to a wild and difficult coast of access.
In the park one finds Glacier S, an hot source, Lac S and a wet moderate Forêt like, on the coast, the remainders of some mining cities of the time of the gold rush.
Fauna includes several species of large mammals snuffed by the hunters, of which the Cerf Elaphe, the Chamois and the Tahr. Helicopters can bring closer the hunters to their target, hunting being allowed but restricted in the park.
The park belongs to the area called Te Wāhipounamu, which is on the Liste of the world heritage of UNESCO.
