National park of Tazekka

The National park of Tazekka is located in the most septentrional part of the Moyen Atlas, near the town of Taza (21 km), it was creates by Arrêté Visiriel of July 11th, 1950 and extends on a surface from 680 hectares. The objective of its creation lies within the forest and environmental scope in order to ensure the protection of all the natural resources of the top of the jbel Tazekka this solid mass constitutes a castle feeding the hydrological system of the area of Taza.

Description

The Park fits in a remarkable tourist tour an overall length of 76 km (minor road n° 311), which starts starting from the town of Taza, passing near a series of curiosities natural (cascades, caves, great timbered extents,…). One reintroduced there, in 1994, of the Cerfs of Berbérie. The site of Tazekka represents a habitat of predilection for this animal by these favorable conditions. Indeed, the specific Biotope of the stag of Berbèrie is the maquis and the forests of Chêne-liège, of Chêne of Zéen and Holm oak with their phytoecological associations.

One can observe there landscapes varied and characteristic of the solid mass of Tazekka. The top of Djbel Tazekka, by its natural cedar plantation which surrounds it, offers a very remarkable point of view on all the surrounding area: mountain of the Average Atlas, wet and wooded, contrary to the stripped Riffian solid mass.

The mammals are represented by the wild boar (Known scrofa barbarus), occupying all the wooded solid masses of the park, the Pig épic (Hystrix cristata), the Otter (Lutra will lutra), Genette (Genetta genetta), the Hare (lepus capensis), the Rabbit (oryctolagus cuniculus), the hedgehog (Erinaceus algirus), the large one and small Rhinolophe (Rhinolophus), as well as the Squirrel of cruelty (Atlantoxerus getulus), the gilded Jackal (Canis aureus) and the Fox (Vulpes Vulpes), the stag of berbery (cervus elaphus barbarus)
