National park of Göreme and rupestral sites of Cappadoce
Göreme is a town of Turkey located in the area of the Cappadoce. It counts in 2007 a population of approximately: 2000 inhabitants.
In a seizing landscape modelled by erosion, the valley of Göreme and its surroundings shelter rupestral sanctuaries, testimonys of the Byzantine Art of the period post-iconoclast, as well as dwellings, troglodytic villages and underground cities, vestiges of a traditional human habitat whose beginnings go back to the 4th century.
