National park Drents-Friese Wold

The National park Drents-Friese Wold (in Dutch: Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold ) is large a Natural reserve of only one holding with the borders of the provinces Dutchwomen of Frise and Drenthe. This National park of almost 6 100 Hectare S is composed of Bois, Lande S and sandy grounds.

The important localities with the accesses of the park are the villages of Appelscha in Plank of south-west and those of Doldersum, Diever, Hoogersmilde, Wapse and Vledder in province of Drenthe.

Management

The four main managers of this national park are:

the office of the national forests ( Staatsbosbeheer ) which controls 4 150 hectares (especially in the North-East on the side of Appelscha);
the direction of the natural monuments ( Natuurmonumenten ) which controls 950 hectares close to Diever (and the secteut Berkenheuvel);
the " Drentse Landschap " (literally landscape of Drenthe) which manages 450 hectares close to Doldersum (Doldersummerveld);
the " Maatschappij van Weldadigheid " (literally charitable organization) which manages 200 hectares of wood in the west of the park (close to Doldersum).

Tourism

The totality of the park includes/understands a wide area network of asphalted cycle tracks. Consequently, of many tourists go there to practice the bicycle. There exists moreover of the special tracks for the bicycles of mountain (mountainbike).
