The National institute of the Young Deaf persons is a French school of teaching specialized for young deaf persons.

In the beginning, the Institution of the Deaf persons of birth was created under the Constituent one, by the law of the July 21st and 29th 1791. It had as a finality the continuation of the philanthropic work of the abbot Charles-Michel of the Sword (1712-1789). This law honoured this benefactor while bearing his name with the row of the citizens having deserved Fatherland.
