National institute of the statistics (Tunisia)

The National institute of the statistics (INS) is a public corporation Tunisia N depend on the ministry for the development and international cooperation. Created in 1969, it is in charge with the production and the analysis of the official Statistiques in Tunisia.

Missions

Among its missions, the INS:
  • organizes and exploits the Recensement S of the Population, the social surveys, social and economic and publishes the various figures of population in Tunisia.
  • produced and publishes many Indice S and indicators of economic conjuncture and ensures the follow-up and economic situation analyzes. It works out the social accounting according to its various dimensions (main road and quarterly).
  • organizes national statistical documentation by gathering the data produced by the structures of the national system of the statistics and ensures the international cooperation in the statistical field.

The main mission of the regional representations is to carry out the operations of seizure and coding, data acquisition as well as the development of the regional statistics in their respective geographical areas.
