National institute of the statistics (Spain)

The National institute of the statistics ( Instituto Nacional de Estadística in Spanish) is the organization official, in charge of the development and the communication with the demographic Statistiques , economic and social in Spain. Its seat is with Madrid in Paseo of Castellana.
History
November 3rd 1856, the general Narváez, president of the Council of Ministers of Isabelle II, sign a Decree which establishes a Commission, in charge of the creation of the General Statistics of the Kingdom. April 21st, 1857, the Commission took the name of Junta de Estadística . Its first work was the census of the Spanish population.
A decree of September 12th 1870, taken during the provisional government of the Serrano general, creates the Geographical Institut ( Instituto Geográfico ). June 19th, 1873, it took the Geographical name of Institut and the Statistics ( Instituto Geográfico there Estadístico ).
A decree of October 1st, 1901 establishes the creation of official statistics and their publication. The Instituto Geográfico Estadístico becomes there an Head office and one creates departments in the Ministries to facilitate his work.
The Law of December 31st 1945 creates the Instituto Nacional de Estadística , which has the role the development of the statistics demographic, economic and social already existing, the creation of news and coordination with the statistical services of the provinces and the communes.
The Law was published in the BOE of January 3rd 1946.
