The Front National of Namibia (Namibia National Face) was an alliance of moderate parties of center-left, formed in 1977 following the constitutional negotiations of the Conférence of Turnhalle.

It included/understood:

  • the council of Damaras
  • the executive council of Damaras
  • the federalistic party
  • National union of African South-west (South West African National Union - SWANU)
  • the council Mbanderu
  • the party progressist of Namibia
  • the party of national independence
  • the party of the voice of the people

This national front, hostile with the conclusions adopted by the conference of Turnhalle fissured as of 1978 with the scission of some of its members towards the Face of release of the people of Namibia.

Justus Garoëb, the chief of the NNF, will become in 1980 the president of the executive council of the Damaraland marking its rallying with the principles of Turnhalle.

In 1989, the NNF managed to make elect a deputy, Vekuii Rukoro, at the constituent National Assembly of Namibia. Vekuii Rukoro was also the president of the SWANU and the president of the NNF since 1989.

The party disappears little from time after the independence of Namibia the March 21st 1990 whereas Vekuii Rukoro joined SWAPO then the Namibian government. Category: Policy of Namibia
