Each canton constitutes an electoral constituency which elects at least a National Adviser in proportion to his population, even if its population is lower than the national average of inhabitants for a seat (which is currently of 36.000). The national advisers are elected with the poll proportional. The federal elections of 2007 saw a big raise of the head offices Verts +8 (20 seats for 12 outgoing advisers) and of the UDC +7 (62 seats for 55 outgoing advisers). The center is reinforced with +3 for the Christian Democratic party and +2 for GrüneLiberale.
