History of the Company of medicine of Lyon
The National company of Medicine and Medical sciences of Lyon was founded in 1789 pennies the impulse of a group of Lyons doctors leads stalemate Marc-Antoine Petit (which became later army surgeon of the Grand Hotel God of Lyon).It is the oldest medical company of Lyon, heiress of the old College of the doctors of Lyon founded by Symphorien Champier in XVIe century.
She was recognized of public utility by imperial decree of February 27th, 1856 and decree of May 16th, 1923.

Chaired by the honorary senior Neidhardt, the National company of medicine turns particularly to the study of the history of medicine and the surgery.
Anatomical and medical collections of the Company
It has many collections of anatomy and, more largely, medical natural history, which are deposited at the University Claude Bernard of Lyon. Those are visible with the Musée Testut Latarjet (to refer to the bonds below).
Its library, preserved by the Public library of Lyon, comprises 2000 old works, of which incunables of XVe century.
