The National center of cinematography (or CNC ) is a public corporation in administrative matter French, equipped with the legal personality and financial autonomy, which was created by the law of the October 25th 1946. It is placed under the authority of the Ministère of the Culture and the communication.

The main missions of the National center of cinematography are:

  • the regulation
  • the support for the economy of the cinema, audio-visual and multi-media the
  • the promotion of the cinema and audio-visual and their diffusion near all public the
  • the protection and diffusion of the cinematographic inheritance

It is currently directed by Veronique Cayla.
