National center of agronomic studies of the hot areas
The National center of agronomic studies of the hot areas (CNEARC) was an establishment of agricultural higher education placed under the supervision of the minister in charge for the agriculture which constituted a school of application of the schools of agronomy. Based with Montpellier, this school disappeared since January 1st, 2007 following a fusion within the international Center from higher learning in agronomic sciences.
On average 60 students of different background are received at the end of the two years of formation:
- 20 French-speaking students, in majority African (they for the majority are sent by their governments)
- 40 French students having had at least experience in the countries of the South with a formation close relations of the fields approached (sociology agronomy, biology & ecology, economy)
According to a recent survey, 90% of the left engineers find an employment in the six months.
50% of the French engineers remain in France at the end of two years (Rooms of agriculture, associations, private companies), the others being distributed between governmental organizations, international institutions and research (CIRAD, IRD,…).
The network of the Engineers under development RID is an association recognized by the ANPE which helps the engineers left the CNEARC in the search of their employment.
