In Astronomy, the National Radio operator Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) (National observatory of radio astronomy) is a research center with the the United States financed by the the National Science Foundation for the Radioastronomie (i.e. the Astronomie of the Ondes radio). The NRAO draws, develops, builds and operates its clean Radiotélescope S.

The NRAO operates a network of telescopes disseminated in the world.

Charlottesville

The general headquarters of the NRAO are with the Université of Virginia, in Virginia, with the the United States, in the town of Charlottesville. In the same way, the scientific center of the project ALMA and the technological center of the NRAO are in Charlottesville.

Green Bank

NRAO is the manufacturer and the owner of largest the completely mobile Radiotélescope of the world: the radio telescope of Green Bank, which is with Green Bank (Virginia-Western, the United States). Green Bank is the center of the quiet radio zone of the United States, therefore the NRAO is responsible. It is located in a territory of 13  000 miles square free of any electromagnetic pollution.

Socorro

The center of the NRAO with Socorro with the New Mexico is called the Array Operations Center . Located on the campus of New Mexico City Tech, the AOC is used as general headquarters for the Broad Very Array (VLA), which was used in the film Contact . The AOC is also the control center of the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), whose telescopes are disseminated throughout the world.
