The National American Biography (ANB) or American national Biographie is a work of 24 volumes containing approximately 17   400 biographical articles. It was published in 1999 (the first supplement is appeared in 2002). According to the foreword of Volume 1, it is the successuer Dictionary off American Biography which was published between 1926 and 1937. It is in general available in the section Reference American libraries .

The editors of the American National Biography are John A. Garraty and Mark C. Edges. It is published by the Oxford University Close.
