National Advanced Driving Simulator
NADS is the initials of the NR ational has dvanced D riving S imulator in service with the the United States of America.
This Simulateur of control intended for the studies on the behavior of the driver was built of 1993 with 2001 on the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Brought into service in 2001 at the university of Iowa, it is to date the largest simulator of control in the world. It comprises a dome 7 meters in diameter which contains the vehicle simulated around whose the virtual scene on 360° is projected. This dome which can rotate on 330°, is placed on a platform hexapode and the whole on two carriages capable of longitudinal and side translations of approximately 20 meters.
