History

Its character is outlined starting from 1965 by Walthéry. He is inspired by several actresses of this time like by a friend of childhood of the draftsman. The draftsman, 'knowing there only little in aviation, then initially took as a starting point several boards by Victor Hubinon which had carried out the boards of Buck Danny . The first album, Natacha, airline hostess , left in 1970.

Characters

  • Walter , steward particularly gaffor and awkward. Its name is that of the first child of Gos, collaborator of Walthéry. It is collector of vinyls of jazz and lives a studio in Brussels, inspired by that of the draftsman in the same place;

  • the commander Turbot , airline pilot.

They alternate purely imaginary places and real places, of which several Belgian sites, coffees, restaurants of Brussels, streets inhabitants of Li2ege…

Adaptations

The character inspired a certain number of pastiches made by other draftsmen, more stripped, either taking again same heroin, or his equivalent in other professions ( Nathalie the small hostess , Magali the small nurse …). Walthéry also made boards of its heroin in stripped version.

Patrick Dewez wrote in 1990 a musical tale, Mambo in Buenos Aires , putting in Natacha scene. The booklet is illustrated by François Walthéry and Georges Van Linthout. The tale is told by Georges Pradez and the songs are interpreted by Renaud, Toots Thielemans, etc
