Justine Me Poyo Kasa-Vubu was born on April 14th, 1951 in Léopoldville/Kinshasa, president of the Mouvement of the Congolese democrats. She is the girl of Joseph Kasa-Vubu, first president of the Democratic republic of Congo. She was candidate with the Congolese presidential election of July 2006.
After the death of her father and the seizure of power by Mobutu Sese Seko, it is exiled with the remainder of its family in Algérie, then in Suisse where it finishes her studies. She will lead finally in Belgium where she obtains a license in social sciences with the Catholic Université of Leuwen (UCL). Its acquired diploma, it will work with Geneva for the Haut-Commissariat for the Refugees (HCR) of the the United Nations. She will return to Belgium where she continues her work at the Research center on the epidemiology of the natural disasters (UCL) and in the Center of African studies of the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles.
In 1991, it adheres to the Union for the democracy and the social progress (UDPS) of Etienne Tshisekedi, the principal party of opposition to Joseph Mobutu. The May 22nd 1997, it is named Minister for the Public office in the first government of Laurent-Desired Kabila, without to have received the approval of its own party. It will not keep this wallet a long time since the Congolese president the responsibility of represent the Democratic republic of Congo as an ambassador close Belgium. It will leave its functions following dissensions with Laurent-Desired Kabila.
Characteristics
Kasa-Vubu is also the name of one of the communes of the Province of Kinshasa.
