Naruhito

Its Imperial Highness the Crown prince Naruhito (in Japanese: 徳仁皇太子殿下, Naruhito kôtaishi denka ), born with the Togu palate with Tōkyō the February 23rd 1960 is the oldest son of current Empereur of the Japan, Akihito. Titrated Prince Hiro (浩宮徳仁親王殿下 Hiro-No-miya Naruhito shinnô denka) when he was child, it became the heir to the throne of Japan (皇太子, kôtaishi , Crown prince) with died of his/her grandfather, the emperor Hirohito, the January 7th 1989.

Naruhito married the May 6th 1993 with Masako Owada, a diplomatic commoner, who gave him a child on February 1st 2001, the princess Aiko (愛子), titrated Princesse Toshi (敬宮, Toshi No Miya ).

The law of succession to the throne currently drawing aside the women, a revision was considered by the government. Nevertheless, since the advertisement in February 2006 of the pregnancy of the wife of the prince Akishino, brother of Naruhito (already parents of two girls), this revision was abandoned since the Kiko princess gave rise to a boy, Prince Hisahito, the September 6th 2006.

This abandonment is probably provisional, warns Kōichi Yokota, law professor, because “there is no guarantee of continuity for the imperial family as long as flexible rules of succession will not have been adopted”. The concubines having disappeared and the former imperial clan having been tiny room to a branch, the perenniality of the Trône of the chrysanthemum rests today only on some couples. The patrilineal system could function perfectly only thanks to the Polygamie, which disappeared in fact with the emperor Taishō (1879-1926) and from right with the constitution of 1947, which stipulates that the heir must be “legitimate”. In addition, the reform of 1947 limited the transmission of the throne to the descendants of Taisho, radiant of the imperial family, therefore possible successors, many collateral branches. Japanese monarchy undergoes moreover the pressure of a majority of Japanese eager of modernity and favorable to the advent of an Empress.
