Narcissistic neurosis

The narcissistic Neurosis , categorization of inspiration freudienne, is one of the principal psychopathological entities conceptualized by the Psychanalyse. According to Jean Laplanche and Jean-Bertrand Pontalis, the term tends to disappear.

The Névrose is usually characterized by a disorder on the level of the Libido, in the report/ratio with the other. Certain infantile sexual instincts are driven back; they aim in particular the father and the mother (Oedipus complex).

The Narcissisme indicates much more than the regard of oneself. It is about the base of any impulse: any impulse of the Me: in the beginning, there would be Primary narcissism, the child would not have a psychic relation with the outside world. Le Secondary narcissism is the fold of the impulse on ego. This fold characterizes the narcissistic neurosis .

Theory freudienne

Sigmund Freud thinks the narcissistic neurosis in opposition to the Transference neurosis. Whereas the transference neurosis indicates a success of the psychoanalytical Cure, the narcissistic neurosis cannot lead to this point, because there are not a Transfert, or a too difficult transfer. This first direction of the narcissistic neurosis indicates the Psychose.

Freud reconsiders this point in 1924. He proposes to limit the term of narcissistic neurosis to the affections melancholic persons, in order to distinguish them as well from the neurosis as of the psychosis.

Theories of the narcissistic neurosis

Of narcissistic neurosis, the psychoanalytical Psychopathologie will consider narcissistic pathologies, or Border line.

The theories of the narcissistic neurosis are concerned with the evolution of the demand for psychoanalysis. It is about a first axis of questioning:

  • the patients are of same the types as the patients of Freud (only the glance of the psychoanalyst changes), or on the contrary the patients evolve/move: y' T it has a Nouvel analyzing?
  • If it is the case, do the patients evolve/move because the company evolves/moves, presenting new a Malaise in the culture, or because the request changes, offering to patients of underprivileged mediums to undertake an analysis?
