Narashino

Narashino (習志野市, Narashino-shi ) is a city (市, shi ) of the Préfecture of Chiba, with the Japan. The city was founded August 1954. Population of the east city of 157.225 inhabitants for a surface of 20.99 km ² (2006).

Narashino shelters the Yatsu Higata (谷津干潟), a Wetland ( wetland ) protected for the migratory birds, where the population of jellyfishes and small crabs increases in spring and in summer.

One finds in Narashino the Yatsu Bara (谷津バラ園), a garden which counts approximately 6000 pinks from May to October.

Narashino is twinned with the town of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the United States.

The flower which symbolizes the city is the Hortensia, was established in 1970.
