Naos

The naos is the most important part of the Temples of ancient Egypt and the Greece, as well as orthodoxe churches .

Good Pharaon begins his divine construction with this one, then completes the remainder of the monument, it is completely logical because in this part the Divinity rests.

Each temple shelters a naos, room ultimate of the divine element containing a statuette with the image of the god or the goddess. Only one man can come into contact with God, Pharaon. This one cannot multiply everywhere in the country then it doubles, cultuellement, as a large priest. The large priest is the only able one to penetrate in the holy room.

The naos is also called “the Holy of Holies”.

In the Greek and Roman temples (where one can name it concealed ), it contains also the statue of the god, which the Profane does not reach normally.
