Nantouillet

Nantouillet is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Nantolétain (E) S.

Geography

The village is located in the small natural area of the Goële, to about thirty kilometers in the North-East of Paris and near the Aéroport Roissy-Charles-of-Gaulle, with less than ten kilometers. Its territory is crossed by the course of the Beuvronne. The commune is served by a station on the line Paris - Crépy-in-Valois.

History

In the past “Nantoletium”, the stronghold belongs at the beginning of the 16th century with the cardinal Antoine Duprat, prelate and chancellor of François Ier, and before his tutor. It made there build a splendid brick castle in the style of the first Renaissance.

Tourist monuments and places

the castle (classified Historic building) built about 1525 by Antoine Duprat is one of the first castles Renaissance builds in Île-de-France. Its enclosure is flanked of three towers circular and surrounded by ditches; the monumental gate carved with the decoration of Pilastre S is surmounted by a carved lintel carrying niches now deprived of statues except the central Dais (mutilated statue of Jupiter thundering with a Latin currency). The Main building composed of three wings laid out around the main courtyard preserved its mullioned windows and carved door of arabesques and shells. The whole of the building is unfortunately in degraded an enough state.

the church Saint-Denis , rebuilt at the 16th century (classified Historic building) is impressed style Renaissance. Its gate is treated the made-to-order of a triumphal arch, the tympanum consists of four women being detached from garlands of flowers and fruits, carried out together by the school of Jean Goujon.
