Nantong

Nantong (南通; Pinyin: Nántōng) is a city of the province Jiangsu in China. The total population of its jurisdiction is of more than 7,7 million inhabitants. One speaks the dialect there about Nantong of the Mandarin. The city has a port and some industrial parks in the suburb of Tangchiacha.

Administrative divisions

The city-prefecture of Nantong exerts its jurisdiction on eight subdivisions - two districts, four city-counties and two counties  :
  • the district of Chongchuan - 崇川区 Chóngchuān Qū   ;
  • the district of Gangzha - 港闸区 Gǎngzhá Qū   ;
  • the town of Haimen - 海门市 Hǎimén Shì   ;
  • the town of Qidong - 启东市 Qǐdōng Shì   ;
  • the town of Tongzhou - 通州市 Tōngzhōu Shì   ;
  • the town of Rugao - 如皋市 Rúgāo Shì   ;
  • the county of Rudong - 如东县 Rúdōng Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Hai' year - 海安县 Hǎi' ān Xiàn .
