Geography

Nantilly is an Inhabitant of Franche-Comté small village of the department of the Haute-Saône located in limit of the Burgundy of the Franche-Comté as well as Champagne-Ardenne. In the center of a polygon whose angles are marked by Besancon, Dijon, Dole and equidistant Langres of 50 kilometers. The village is located in bottom of a small valley (of the soufroide) is on these two sides. The the Saone runs with 5  km.

History

Remainders of constructions of the Gallo-Roman time were found with the locality “field of mass”. With the the Middle Ages, Nantilly does not have a Seigneur, only some country dwellings existed. The first lord of Nantilly is the lord of Beaumont and Autrey who lived in 926. The village of Nantilly is mentioned in 1055 at the time of its donation to the Abbaye of Bèze. The population is made up mainly of family having their community activities with Gray and Arc-the-Gray. It remains at the village only four farms, mainly of cereal even if the dairy exploitations have importance in the area.
