Nantes Tram-train - Chateaubriant

The Tram-train Nantes - Châteaubriant is a project railway aiming to the reopening of the line, with equipment of the type Tramway in Nantes and railway beyond.

In 2010 is envisaged the startup of the project in its first phase (Nantes - Nort-sur-Erdre). In the three years which follow will have to take place the opening of the deuxème phase with the startup of the service road in its entirety, until Châteaubriant. An interconnection with the urban network will be able to take place in future nongiven.

History

The railway line of Nantes to Châteaubriant was opened by the network of Orleans the December 23rd 1877. At the time of the last time service, this single-track line of 64 kilometers was traversed by three daily return tickets: morning, at midday and evening. The last passenger train circulated the May 31st 1980. The service road goods concerns nothing any more but one customer connected up with It Vault-on-Erdre; the line is not traversed any more beyond towards Châteaubriant.

Twice, in the Years 1990, it was considered a reopening partial of this line but these projects did not succeed. the first would have related to a service road by the line 1 of the Nantes tram until Vault-on-Erdre or Suck-on-Erdre; the second was of railway type traditional FOR THE THIRD TIME.

Stations

  • Station of Nantes, (Nantes)
  • Haluchère, (Nantes): pole of exchange with the tram and bus.
  • Creation of two station of the urban type on the commune of Nantes (according to the choices of Nantes Metropolis returning within the framework of the project of interconnection of the lines 1 and 2 of the tram): Saint-Joseph-with-Porterie and Babinière-South .
  • Nantes-Metropolis also chose the creation of two stations on the communes of It Vault-on-Erdre: Erdre-Active and the Vault-Center .
  • Suck-on-Erdre (réouverure of old SNCF railway station)
  • Nort-sur-Erdre (idem)
  • Abbaretz (idem)
  • Issé (idem)
  • Station of Chateaubriant

Frequencies

Nantes - Suck-on Erdre

It is envisaged 23 daily return tickets until Suck-on-Erdre, including 9 in terminus, that is to say a tram-train every 30 minutes at the rush hours, and every hour in off-peak hour.

Nantes - Nort-sur-Erdre

It is envisaged 14 daily return tickets until Nort-sur-Erdre, including 9 in terminus, that is to say a service road concentrated at the rush hours, with a tram-train every 30 minutes.

Nantes - Chateaubriant

At the time of the second phase, it is envisaged 5 daily return tickets until Châteaubriant, that is to say two return tickets the morning, at midday and two the evening.

The material

In July 2007, the SNCF elected by the area Pays of the Loire chose oars of the type Citadis Dualis proposed by Alstom to circulate on the line.
