Nanjirou Echizen

Nanjirô Echizen is one of the characters of the manga the Prince of tennis .

Father of Ryôma Echizen, he is a former professional of tennis which could have become a player of world famous, but decided to stop his career with the birth of his son, even if he does not reveal his reasons clearly. During series, he is monk because charged to keep a temple in the absence of one of his friends. In spite of that, Nanjirô spends its time to read erotic magazines, to smoke, irritate his/her son and to beat it with punt seams…

It met his wife, Rinko, at the time of a voyage to the United States makes to carry out its dreams (it gained all its tournaments besides). At the time, he just regarded it as a girl lacking chest, but finally he married it.

In the film " Futari No Samurai" , it is discovered that Nanjirô would have an elder wire which Ryôma would not remember any more, Ryôga. However, it is never made by it mention in the manga or animates it, its real existence is thus disputed.
