Nancy Spungen
Nancy Laura Spungen is a Groupie American, born the February 27th 1958, and deceased the October 12th 1978.
Girl of Frank and Deborah Spungen, family of the American middle-class of Jewish origin. Hyperactive child and forces, it was sent in specialized centres for disturbed children and was followed by psychiatrists. Suffering from depression, it on several occasions tried to make an attempt on its life. It started to consume marijuana in one of these centers. It left the family residence at 17 years and became groupie, according to the groups in vogue of the time. She worked as stripper with New York, and occasionally like prostitute. She took drugs with heroin. She flew away thereafter in London where she met Sid Vicious, bass player of the Sex Pistols. Their relation lasted 21 month, and was punctuated violences and abuse drugs. She is supposed to have made discover heroin with her boyfriend. October 12th, Nancy Spungen was found died out of underclothing in the bathroom of the hotel which it divided with Sid Vicious. She had died of the continuations of a wound to the knife in the area of the stomach, caused by the weapon of her companion. Sid Vicious was stopped by the police force, but quickly slackened at once after having paid a guarantee. He died a few months later of an overdose, without the truth on the murder of the young girl not being clearly established. The mother of Nancy Spungen wrote thereafter a book And I don' T want to live this life in which it revealed that his/her daughter suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.
A film recalling the passion of young people was carried out in 1986 under the name of Sid and Nancy.
