Nakagawa
Nakagawa (中川) is one of the cities constituting the town of Nan' yo in the Préfecture of Yamagata in the north of the island of Honshu to the Japan.
The 2 Kanji forming the name “nakagawa” mean literally “inside” or “intermediate size” and “river”.
Nakagawa was the site of a career, but currently its cultural property most important is the “33 images of Buddha” (岩部山三十三観音, iwabuyama sanjusan kannon ) cut out in the southern face of the Mont Iwabu. These images were carried out during the Period Edo.
The bridge of Yoshida (吉田橋, yoshida hashi ) was built in 1880 on the order of the first governor of the prefecture of Yamagata, and is preserved like an example of the efforts authorized to improve the communications in the prefecture.
