Najjadeh

The Najjadeh are a Lebanese political party.

Founded in the Thirties, it was at the time popular within the community sunnite, in particular with Beirut. In 1943, during a few weeks, the party was unified with its rival Maronite, the party Kataƫb of Pierre Gemayel, in order to show the Lebanese unit claiming the independence of the country with regard to the France.

Adnan Hakim , founder of the party, was appointed sunnite of Beirut between 1968 and 1972.

In 1975, the Najjadeh refused to take share with the Guerre of Lebanon, which involved the erosion of their popular base. Today the party is summarized with a small organization, without real popular base.
