In the Manga Dragon Ball , Nail is a warrior Namek who ensures the protection of the large Master of Nameks. Like all Nameks, its name has a relationship with snails, in fact it is drawn from the English word “snail”.

It appears in the saga Freezer. It is certainly most powerful of Nameks, which explains why it is under the direct orders of the large Master. He fights Freezer to protect the Master like giving time to Krilin and His Gohan to call upon the crowned Dragon. He is however impotent vis-a-vis the tyrant who leaves it failing when he understands that he was Bern.

Later, he is discovered by Piccolo (very right ressuscity), and he then proposes to him to assimilate his body in a permanent way, in order to increase his power and to have a chance against Freezer. Piccolo accepts and Nail then ceases existing under physical shape, but survives in the spirit of Piccolo (Later, Piccolo will carry out a new fusion with Kami-sama, but it is actually a different process since Piccolo and God were in the beginning a single character).
