Geography

Nades, small village of 135 hearts, in Combining it, is presented, posed on the edge of the superb forest of Colettes and between the two rivers Sioule and Bouble.

Nades is located at 39 km of Vichy, 30 km of St Pourçain-on-Sioule, 22 km of Gannat, 12 km of Ebreuil.

The Throats of Sioule cut in the rock, are kept by many strong castles where the countries of Oc and Oil meet.

The many often majestic buildings and the primarily Romance churches testify to an architectural and historical past intense.

The geology of the area is single, of many careers with open sky (of kaolin in particular for the manufacture of the porcelain) like " The house of the géologie" attest this mineral richness.

Five impressive steel constructions, always in service, are works of engineer Nordling, but two, built by the Eiffel company, acquired a certain celebrity. They are classified historic buildings.

History

Nades is crossed by an antique sees Roman which connected Vichy to Néris-the-Baths. It is during the Middle Ages that the first inhabitants settled. The king Charles VII accomplished many stays with Nades where it found one of his favorite, Artuse de Montmorin.

The Saint-Jacob church (Xii-XVI-XIXe). Composite masonry of style, only two spans of the nave are Romance. This church is equipped with a confessional of XIIe. The confessionals were introduced in France after the Council of Thirty or Council of the Counter-Reformation (1545-1563). They were used to encourage the confession and the practice of Penitence and Eucharistie. A polychrome wood dating from the XVIIIe representative Saint Hackney carriage (owner of the gardeners) is near the nave.

The House Fayette (XVIIe). The Countess of Fayette, author of the Princess of Clèves, came in Nades in holiday. In 1854, the Count de Morny, half-brother of Napoleon III, repurchased this house and refitted it with its taste.

The Park of Nades. In the park of the castle of the duke of Morny, model farm testifies to its implication in the area, in order to support agricultural novel methods but also to promote the Empire near the country world, important electorate at that time.
