Nadeja Souslova
Of Russian origin, Nadeja Souslova arrives at Zurich in 1865. Midwife, it has concepts of Médecine and wishes to deepen them to exert the Gynécologie at the Bachkirs, a Moslem ethnos group of the Russian Empire where this speciality is prohibited with a man.
Not being able, as a woman, to be registered like full coed, it follows courses of medicine as a free listener. To present a thesis of doctorate in 1868, it must however obtain university senate an authorization without precedent. The debates are embarrassed but one cannot call upon against it the inferiority of his sex in front of his obvious competence, nor decency since it is already midwife. Estimating that since it would leave Switzerland its case would not make school, the authorities yield but they create a precedent thus.
