Nad Tatrou its blýska

Nad Tatrou its blýska (i.e.: “Above the Tatras mounts, the flash shines”) is the national anthem Slovak of the Slovak Republic and is composed of the first two stanzas of the song " Nad Tatrou its blyska" whose words are of the poet Janko Matuška (1821 - 1877), raises of the scholar Ľudovít Štúr, on a popular folk air and who was a song of the Slovak revolt of 1848, against the Hungarian.

An adopted anthem, in 1918, as a second part of the Czechoslovakian national anthem (confirmed text, in 1993, as a Slovak national anthem).

Words

Nad Tatrou its blýska, hromy divo bijú.
On Tatras It strikes down, the thunder strikes violemment.
zastavme ich bratia,
Let us stop to them my brothers,
veď its oni stratia,
However they will be lost,
Slováci ožijú.
Slovak the renaîtront.

To Slovensko naše posiaľ tvrdo spalo.
Our Slovakia has up to now deeply dormi.
ale blesky hromu
But flashes of the tonnerre
vzbudzujú Ho K tomu,
It will push,
aby its prebralo.
So that it reveille.

Už Slovensko vstáva,
putá if strháva.
Hej, rodina milá,
hodina odbila,
žije matka sláva!

Ešte jedle rastú
Na krivánskej strane.
Kto jak Slovak cíti,
nech its šable chytí
has medzi nás stane.
