Nabor saint

Saint Nabor is a Roman soldier Christian martyrized under Dioclétien, with a companion, holy Felix, with Lodi in 304. Festival on July 12th.

Its Reliques is brought back of Rome to the monastery Nova Cell (Benedictine abbey) to Saint-Avold in 765 by Chrodegang, bishop of Metz. He becomes patron saint of the village and its original name gives then him. It is the name of " Nabo" who deteriorated N " Avold".

It followed from there the history of the camel sent by Hugues, count de Bourgogne, and one of the descendants of the duke Adalric, who was to transport part of the relics of Saint Nabor to further and which made a pause at the village of Saint-Nabor in the the Low-Rhine, before stopping a little higher with the Niedermünster monastery of the Mont Sainte-Odile.

Saint Nabor has a church with its name with Colombey in the Moselle: the Church Saint Nabor de Colombey.

The historians do not seem agreement on the legend of Saint-Nabor.
