Nabeul
Nabeul (rear RTL نابل) is a city of the North-East of the Tunisia located at the south of the Péninsule of the Cape Bon with 67 kilometers in the south-east of Tunis.
Chief town of the governorship of the same name, it constitutes a municipality of 56.387 inhabitants. By associating the cities close to Dar Chaabane, Blessed Khiar and El Maâmoura, it forms a Agglomération of 120.000 inhabitants. With Hammamet, it forms a bipolar Conurbation of 185.000 inhabitants.
Nabeul is one of the most important cities which follow one another along the coast of the Golfe of Hammamet. Its environment consists of Verger S and of Jardin S. Thanks to its Plage of fine Sable, its limpid sea and its Mediterranean Climat, the area is an appreciated destination of the European tourists .
History
In the Antiquity, the city bears the Greek name of Neapolis which is composed of nea (new) and Polis (quoted). Thus the Greek then the Romains call it. The foundation of the city goes back to at least 2400 years. The Greek Thucydide qualifies it, at the end of seventh century BC, of counter Carthaginian and the title of town of North Africa confers to him in the past mentioned by the texts after Carthage. During the Peloponnesian War in 413 av. J. - C., which opposes Sparte to Athens, the soldiers of Sparte embark on ships which run aground on the coasts of Cyrénaïque. With the French protectorate, founded in 1881, Nabeuliens are strongly opposed to the installation of the colonial companies and show a strong attachment with the culture of the ground. The town of Nabeul is one of the first towns of Tunisia, in 1909, to engage a generalization of teaching and with émanciper the woman with the creation of an elementary school for the Moslem young girls . The nationalist movement, supported by local intellectuals, sees the birth of the local cell of the Néo-Destour in 1936.
Economy

Craft industry
