Nabérejnyé Tchelny

Nabérejnyé Tchelny () is the second city of the République of Tatarstan, in Russia. It is the administrative center of the district of Toukayevsky.

Nabérejnyé Tchelny is an important industrial center on the river banks Kama, to 225 km in the east of Kazan, the capital of the Republic. Population: 509.870 inhabitants (2002).

The city was founded towards 1172 and acquired the statute of city in 1930. It bore the name of Brejnev, according to Léonid Brejnev, of 1982 with 1988.

Nabérejnyé Tchelny was a small town of province of no importance until in 1976, cut-over date of a very important factory of trucks and diesel engines: KamAZ, employing 52.000 workers.

The population of the city is composed of Russians (45,5%), Tatars (43,9%), Chuvashes (1,9%), Ukrainians (1,6%), Bachkirs (1,4%.), etc

The city has a football club, the FK Kamaz Naberejnye Tchelny, which plays in the first Russian division.
