Created in 2002, NINSIGHT is a French company specialized in the edition of software for creation, management and the diffusion multimedia. The company offers a range of software interopérables for the diffusion, the dynamic preparing of screen, the Sous-titrage on line and post-production as well as solutions of automation and digital asset management .

Thus, the professionals of NINSIGHT created a software continuation of preparing of antenna integrated and automated in order to allow the chains to create their graphic layer.

Subtitling post-production

NINSIGHT also developed a software of subtitling making it possible to divide into 4 stages the sometimes long and constraining process of the creation of subtitles: Car-detection, captures, simulation and diffusion. Unicode and functioning as well in HD as in SD, this software integrates the automatic control of the voices and the changes of plans, as well as a timeline with waveform.

Subtitling live

Strong of its experiment in subtitling Post-production and very sensitive to the cause of the deaf persons and the deaf people, the company chose to be invested in the development of a live solution of subtitling. Various solutions are available for the subtitling of emissions of direct: the vélotypie, typewriting, the stenotypy computer-assisted. NINSIGHT wished to base its research on the development of a solution of voice recognition. In 2006, NINSIGHT launches a live software of subtitling integrating of technologies of voice recognition (Engine of voice recognition SpeechRoot' ™ of IBM). This solution allows an quasi-immediate subtitling of the emissions of flow and/or the emission of a file subtitles intended to be issued later.

Live technique of subtitling with voice recognition

The principle of basic operation is the direct voice recognition of an audio source “live”. Thus, for the subtitling live of a television program, an operator repeats in a microphone what he hears, by dictating the punctuation. The software retranscribes the word according to the sound and of the probabilities. A second nobody makes the possible corrections to the text, which is then sent to the antenna. The corrector/validator is optional for languages like English. On the other hand, the complexity of the French language imposes the work of a corrector to obtain a complete, detailed subtitling and of quality. With a 4 seconds shift, this technique makes it possible to obtain a precise subtitling in record time.

In the beginning, this solution targeted mainly the industry of television. But, it includes/understands a function written retranscription which interests of other sectors.

Technique of written retranscription

Indeed, it is possible to obtain the subtitling and the written retranscription of conferences, meetings, conferences dice the end of those. Operation is the same one as for a live operation of subtitling: an operator repeats in a microphone the remarks of the lecturer. The software retranscribes the words on the user interface. After some possible corrections, the file is ready to be sent by e-mail or printed them files thus created are stored on a local database and are safeguarded in ASCII format and XML.

These tools and applications can be controlled starting from an automation. Automation NINSIGHT covers automatic management and the filing of files multimedia (graphic, file of subtitles…): digitalization, with the diffusion and the management of the files. The software continuation also manages the filing of the files mediae and any other file of contents (MAM).
