NF E normalizes 29-650
The standard NF E 29-650 defines the Raccord S of gas valves and fittings usable in France.
Indeed, confusion between gases can be tragic and involve accidents. The connections are thus used as Détrompeur S.
Here some example of connections; the specifications are given side bottle (the half-connection coming to connect on the bottle is reversed male/female):
- standard B , for Compressed air: male connection on the right, ∅ 30 mm, not 1,75 IF;
- standard C , for inert Gas: male connection on the right, ∅ 21,7 mm, not 1,814 IF;
- standard D , for respirable mixture with the atmospheric pressure: male connection on the right, ∅ 24 mm, not 2 Whitworth;
- standard E , for flammable gas: male connection on the left, ∅ 21,7 mm, not 1,814 IF;
- standard F , for Dioxygène: connection female on the right, ∅ 22,91 mm, not 1,814 IF;
- standard G , for gas Oxidant: connection female on the right, ∅ 26 mm, not 1,5 IF;
- standard LPG , for Petroleum gas liquefied (Butane, Propane and mixtures) commercial: connection male on the left, ∅ 21,7 mm, not 1,814 Whitworth (different from the type E, is not adapted to the high pressure);
- standard H , for Acetylene: connection female on the left, ∅ 22,91 mm, not 1,814 Whitworth;
- standard J , for corrosive gas : connection male on the right, ∅ 25,4 mm, not 3,174 Whitworth;
- standard K , for Fluorine: male connection on the right, ∅ 26,1 mm, not 1,814 IF;
- standard L , for mixture équimolaire Protoxide of nitrogen - Dioxygène (medical gas analgesic): connection male on the right, ∅ 27 mm, not 2 Whitworth;
- standard M : connection male on the right, ∅ 30 mm, not 2 Whitworth;
- standard NR : connection male on the right, ∅ 30 mm, not 2 Whitworth.
