NDMP
NDMP , Acronyme of Network Data Management Protocol indicates a communication protocol " ouvert" used for the Safeguard of the equipment known as " NAS" (Network attached storage) on a network.
Protocol NDMP Co-was invented by companies NetApp (Network Appliance) and PDC Software (repurchased by Legato) with an aim of leading to a standard. It must allow (in heterogeneous environment) a better communication between equipment of storage and software of safeguards.
Today, the principal software of safeguards supports this protocol.
