Nénètse of the forests

The nénètse of the forests is a language samoyède spoken per 1500 to 2000 people in Western Siberia, and one of the two principal dialects of the Nénètse. As its name indicates it, it is narrowly related with the Nénètse of the tundra, spoken by a more important group. Close relations by their grammatical structures, the two languages are however sufficiently dissimilar in their phonetic construction and their vocabulary to prohibit any mutual comprehension.
