Description and phylogenetic position

They are simple organizations, consisted of a small number of cell S, whose phylogenetic position remains dubious: regarded a long time as a phylum with share of the Eucaryote S, the recent studies relating to the ARN 18S confirmed their membership of this Taxon, and probably of that of the Eumétazoaire S.

Characters suitable for the group

  • the Spore presents two polar cells equipped with a filament, resembling the Cnidocyte S of the Cnidaire S.
  • the Gène of the ARNr 18S contains particular derived characteristics.
  • the embryonic layers are absent, but that could constitute a secondary loss resulting from the parasitic lifestyle.

Ecology

All the species of Myxozoaires are parasitic S of Annélide S or of Vertébré S Poïkilotherme S. They are cosmopolitan. The Spore S are introduced by the host. The polar filaments are emitted after ingestion, thus slowing down the progression in the digestive tract. After germination of the spore, the parasite progressing by movements amiboïdes, crosses the intestinal Paroi and migrates to target fabric. Some myxozoaires , parasites the Vertebrate ones, present a very complex life cycle utilizing the infestation of a Protostomien.
