Mystra

Mystra is a goddess of the forgotten Royaumes, countryside of the roleplay Donjons and Dragons.

History

Mystryl was the goddess of the magic in the forgotten Kingdoms until -339 CV, year of the rupture of the Fabrics. This year there, it was sacrificed to save the Kingdoms following the madness of a magus of Néthéril: Karsus.

It réincarna then in Mystra (miss-trah), also known under the name of Lady of the Mysteries, became a goddess particularly occupied and concerned with its attributions, and modified formerly the Fabric so that never no one cannot reiterate the act of Karsus. It is occupied since to maintain the Fabric, the conduit which allows the launchers fates mortals and to the users of the magic to reach this primitive energy. One could even say that Mystra is the Fabric. As a goddess of the magic, it is also the divinity of all that the magic can bring to the world. That probably made it one of the most powerful divinities of all Toril. Although it is naturally benevolent and that it has the possibility of preventing the creation of any fate or magic object going against its philosophy, it uses only exceptionally this capacity. It intervenes generally only when new magic creation could be likely to threaten the Fabric or balance of the magic.

During the Time of the disorders, Mystra was destroyed by Heaume on one of the celestial staircases leading to the plans of the gods. It réincarna then again, in a named mortal Minuit, which endorsed its load and its influence, and which agreed to keep the name of the goddess, by aspect practices for the faithful ones. Mystra always resides in the plan of the Cœur of the Wonders where it is assisted inter alia by Azouth, the god of the magicians.

Symbol

It was a blue star before the arrival of the Misadventures (during the Temps of the disorders); now it is a star ring surrounding a red volute of fog. The two symbols are used indifferently. Contrary to Cyric, Mystra seems to pursue long-term goals, because although it is a power as recent as him, it was based on all the errors of its predecessor to maintain peace with its faithful.

Before the Time of the Disorders, one represented Mystra only in the shape of a will-o'-the-wisp prismatic, able to use all the fates known in the Kingdoms. Today, one depicts it under an human form, that of Midnight, with a radiant skin and hair wing of corbel.
