Mystery, Alaska is an American film of Jay Roach left in 1999.

Synopsis

Mystery is a small town of Alaska isolated from the rest of the world, where the winter temperatures are extreme and where the Hockey is more than one national sport. All the city is in agitation when the local team of Hockey must face famous the Rangers of New York… an event which upsets all the city, the occasion for the inhabitants to put their small quarrels on side.

Stevie Weeks, a character in film (interpreted by Ryan Northcott), is also the name of a former player of the NHL, Steve Weeks, which played with the New York rangers.

Oddly, Wayne Gretzky is mentioned in film like a current player of the NHL which, it there has a certain time, played with Rangers. However, in film, he still plays with Rangers.
