Myster Mask

Myster Mask ( Darkwing Duck ) is a Televised series of American Animation in 91 25 minutes episodes, created by Tad Stones, produced by the studios Disney and diffused between the September 8th 1991 and the December 5th 1992 in Syndication and on ABC. In France, the series was diffused in 1992 on TF1.

Synopsis

In the town of Borough-the-ducks, Myster Mask, the “terror which corrects the errors”, the organization FOWL fights ( Obscure Forfaiture doubles Véreuse de Larcin ) chaired by terrible steel Bec, in reference to James Bond.

Comments

the character of Myster Mask is a parody of Super-héros taking again the majority of the stereotypes, such as malicious megalomaniac (like Poker-Bow net, which strongly resembles the Joker, or professor Moudugenou corresponding to Poison Ivy of the universe of Batman) or its secret identity and of the too curious neighbors, the presence of a double malefic (pointing out Bizarro de Superman, the Zoom of Flash or Venom de Spider-Man), without forgetting a panoply of more or less functional gadgets. There is even a version of professor Q of James Bond under the name of Commissaire Steaklet who appears in certain episodes.

Myster Mask often declares: “I am the terror which corrects the errors, I…” am followed of a sentence of the kind: “what mayonnaise is with mustard” with the end, “I am Myster Mask! ”.

the references to other cartoons, Cartoon S and Film S are legion there. The hero is assisted by his fellow-member who is not other than Flagada Jones which leaves the Band with Picsou . Of another references to Picsou are also present such as Robotick ( Gizmoduck in English), the accountant of Picsou, superman at his hours, in the series the Band with Picsou ), competitor of Myster Mask, as well as the face of Picsou sometimes hidden in a poster in the decoration. Of course, this hero is gaffor and with the image of the Inspecteur Gadget, often helped by his daughter.

an adaptation concerned video, rather faithful to the series, was carried out by Capcom on Nes and Game Boy, it kept the original name of the series: Darkwing Duck .
