Saint-Germain-of-Tallevende-the-Moor-Vaumont is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie. Its inhabitants is Tallevendais.

The name of the commune, resulting from the fusion from Saint-Germain-to-Tallevende and of the Moor-Vaumont in 1973, is worth to him to be one of the three communes of France to have the greatest number of letters (38). Because of the number of indents, it is preceded by Saint-Remy-in-Bouzemont-Saint-Genest-and-Isson and precedes Beaujeu-Saint-Vallier-Pierrejux-and-Quitteur with regard to the number of characters.

Geography

The commune is in the south of Vire, the north of the commune being besides a suburb of the city. It is bordering on the department of the Manche (common of Gathemo, Vengeons and Chaulieu). The borough of Saint-Germain-of-Tallevende is in light withdrawal of the RD 577 (old Trunk road 177) enters Vire and Sourdeval, that of the Moor-Vaumont being much more in the east. The territory extends on: 4189 hectares, which makes of it the widest commune of the Arrondissement of Transfers.

History

Renamed Tallevende-the-Large with the Revolution, Saint-Germain finds the name of his guard in 1857.
